Quickly estimate how much your project will cost, how long it will take, how many people will be required and when, and how many defects will be delivered.

Estimate your project according to the relationships used in other software estimating models (good for crosschecking and for validating existing estimates).

r2ESTIMATOR:

Implements the r2 Software Estimating Framework (r2SEF) set of equations that determine duration, effort, cost, staffing, and discovered defects as a function of effective size (content), efficiency, economy, and defect vulnerability.

Manages a user-extensible set of development project categories, which are used to characterize the kind of software development being done; each of which is derived from the data associated with a particular set of related completed projects.

Manages a user-extensible set of development profiles within each category, which are used to further characterize the kind of software being developed in terms of its expected efficiency and defect vulnerability within that particular category.

Includes complete COCOMO 81 and COCOMO II parameter GUIs for determining economy and efficiency as part of COCOMO 81 / COCOMO II emulation.

Includes a complete Jensen Model (Seer) parameter GUI for determining economy and efficiency as part of Jensen Model emulation.

Includes a Norden-Putnam-Rayleigh (NPR) GUI for determining economy and efficiency from NPR Productivity Index and Manpower Buildup Index as part of out-of-the-box categories and profiles to support NPR Model emulation.

Allows the user to specify uncertainty associated with the independent variables (effective size, efficiency, and defect vulnerability) by triangular distribution (Low, Most Likely, High).

Determines probability distributions associated with the dependent variables (duration, effort, cost, and discovered defects) by Monte Carlo simulation at all levels of the project.

Supports a hierarchical project structure with full-featured drag and drop GUI that includes the following element types:
